Valerie Twomey presented herself to Origo with an idea to produce a cookbook for people living with kidney disease. In Ireland Chronic Kidney Disease (CKD) affects up to 280,000 citizens. Diet restrictions play a vital role in managing this chronic kidney disorder.The creation of a cookbook dedicated to those with CKD is the first of its kind in Europe.Origo initially assisted Valerie by offering their state of the art cooking showroom, at their premises in City West, to allow her professional chefs create their dishes to be photographed for the cookbook. Origo also offered their considerable expertise and facilities in hosting cooking demonstrations to celebrate the launch of the book. The Truly Tasty cooking demo road show has been a huge success. It has involved 4 cooking demonstrations held in Dublin, Sligo, Cork and then finishing in the Bosch headquarters showroom in Origo, Citywest Dublin where state of the art camera equipment and cooking technology assisted the chefs to reproduce their wonderful dishes from Truly Tasty – all of which are suitable for patients on a renal diet.
